This website was created with the intention of relaying knowledge on the local and global plight of bees to the public. Bees are important to the survival of many plant species, far beyond inedible flowers. In fact, 80% of the food we eat relies on pollination by bees. However, one doesn't have to be a vegetarian to appreciate the work of bees. Much of the meat that we consume is the product of an animal that was fed commercial feed. Pollinated by the
bees, that feed was likely laden with pesticides, which are a contributing
factor to the global decline of bees.
In protecting bees, our call to action is to spread the word on the loss of this integral insect. This includes preventing further damage to bees by resisting the purchase of bee-damaging household and garden products, and pesticide-laden produce.
